Travrl map of the UWC
As I stand on the deck of the Serenade of the Seas, watching the Miami skyline rise majestically against the early morning sky, a wave of nostalgia washes over me. It's hard to believe that my 274-day world adventure is coming to an end. Each city, each culture, and each encounter has left an indelible mark on my heart, and as I prepare to head back home, I find myself caught in a whirlwind of emotions.
I feel happy for the countless memories I've created, the friendships I've forged, and the experiences that have enriched my life in ways I never imagined. From the bustling markets of Marrakech to the serene beaches of Bora Bora, every moment has been a gift. I can still hear the laughter of my fellow travelers echoing in my mind, the stories shared over dinner, and the awe we felt standing in the shadow of ancient ruins.
Yet, alongside that happiness, there’s a bittersweet sadness. The thought of leaving this life behind, even for a little while, tugs at my heart. I’ll miss the thrill of waking up in a new country, the excitement of discovering uncharted territories, and the sense of freedom that comes with being a world traveler. The people I’ve met along the way have become like family to me, and the idea of saying goodbye is almost unbearable.
As the ship glides into the port, I take a moment to soak it all in. The vibrant colors of Miami, the sound of the waves lapping against the hull, and the promise of home all swirl together, creating a beautiful yet poignant tableau. I know that while I’m returning to my loved ones, I’m also leaving behind a piece of my heart in every corner of the world I’ve explored.
I remind myself that this isn’t truly an end; it’s merely a transition. The stories I’ve gathered and the lessons I’ve learned will accompany me back home, enriching my life and those around me. I’ll share my adventures with my family and friends, igniting their own wanderlust and inspiring them to explore the world.

Rainy bus ride to the Miami Airport
I know that it will always call to me, whispering promises of future journeys and discoveries yet to come. With a heart full of gratitude and a spirit eager for what lies ahead, I step off the ship, ready to embrace the next chapter of my life, knowing that the world is still out there, waiting for me to return.
Perfect Day at CocoCay – 09 September 2024
As I stand on the deck of the ship, gazing out at the familiar sights of Cococay, I can’t help but feel a swell of emotions. This is it—the last port of call on this incredible journey that has spanned the globe. It feels surreal to be back where it all began, and I find myself reflecting on everything I’ve experienced over the past nine months.
I’m not going to dwell too much on what’s available here; after all, we’ve all explored this paradise before during our stop in December. The soft, powdery sand and the crystal-clear waters beckon me, and I can’t wait to sink my toes into the beach once more. It’s the perfect way to unwind before diving into the chaos of packing.
As I look around, I can see that my fellow travelers are also caught in a whirlwind of thoughts. I wonder what they’re feeling as we approach the end of our adventure. Are they sad to leave this chapter behind, or are they excited about the next journey awaiting them? Personally, I know it’s going to be a mixed bag for me. While I can’t wait to reunite with my family and cat the thought of leaving behind the incredible people I’ve shared this experience with tugs at my heartstrings.
Over these months, we’ve become more than just fellow travelers; we’ve formed a family. We’ve laughed together, navigated challenges, and created memories that will last a lifetime. Each shared meal, late-night conversation, and exploration has woven our lives together in a way that I never anticipated. I know that once we part ways, I’ll carry a piece of each of them with me.
As I sit on the beach, soaking in the sun and the sound of the waves, I feel a sense of gratitude wash over me. I think about the incredible stories each of us will have to tell—tales of adventure, personal growth, and the bonds we’ve formed. These stories will be our treasures, and I can already picture the smiles and laughter as we recount them to friends and family back home.
Festive parade at CoCoCay
So, here’s to our stories and the people we share them with! I raise an imaginary glass to the laughter, the challenges, and the unforgettable moments we’ve experienced together. As I prepare to say goodbye to this chapter, I know that it’s not truly an end but rather a new beginning. We’re all heading back to our lives, but the connection we’ve forged will remain, and I’m excited to see where our individual journeys will take us next.
With the sun setting over the horizon and the gentle breeze wrapping around me, I take a deep breath, savoring every moment. Cococay may be the last port, but the memories we’ve created will sail with us into the future, guiding us as we continue to explore this beautiful world.

As a seasoned world traveler, I’ve roamed through bustling markets in Marrakech, wandered the ancient streets of Rome, and marveled at the serene beauty of Kyoto. Yet, nothing quite compares to the electrifying energy of Manhattan, New York City. As I stepped out onto the streets of this iconic borough, I felt an exhilarating rush that only the Big Apple can provide.

My adventure began in the heart of Midtown, where the towering skyscrapers reached for the sky, their glass facades reflecting the vibrant life below. I strolled down Fifth Avenue, the pulse of the city thrumming beneath my feet. The flagship stores beckoned with their glitzy displays, but I was more interested in the sights and sounds of the street itself. I paused to watch a street performer captivating a crowd with his impressive juggling skills, a reminder of the raw talent and creativity that thrive here.
After soaking in the lively atmosphere, I made my way to Central Park, a sprawling oasis amid the urban chaos. As I entered, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. The contrast between the bustling city and the serene greenery was striking. I wandered along the winding paths, taking in the sights of families picnicking, joggers gliding past, and artists capturing the beauty around them. I found a quiet bench near the Bethesda Terrace, where I sat for a while, watching the world go by. The sound of the nearby fountain was soothing, and I took a moment to reflect on my travels and the adventures still to come.
Eager to explore more, I ventured south towards the iconic Times Square. The bright lights and vibrant billboards enveloped me as I stepped into the heart of the city’s entertainment district. I joined the throngs of people, feeling the collective excitement that seems to radiate from this intersection. I snapped a few pictures, capturing the essence of this bustling hub, and treated myself to a classic New York slice of pizza from a nearby stand. The combination of flavors was as iconic as the city itself.
As the sun began to set, I made my way to the High Line, an elevated park built on a historic freight rail line. Walking along the beautifully landscaped path, I was treated to stunning views of the Hudson River on one side and the intricate architecture of the city on the other. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed, with locals and tourists alike enjoying the open space. I paused to take in the sunset, the sky transitioning to hues of orange and pink, casting a warm glow over the city.
My journey continued as I ventured into the Meatpacking District, where the cobblestone streets and trendy boutiques offered a glimpse into a different side of Manhattan. I wandered through the chic shops, each one more inviting than the last, before settling down at a cozy café for a cup of coffee. The aroma of freshly brewed beans filled the air, and I savored the moment as I chatted with fellow travelers, sharing stories of our adventures.

The historic lighthouse, standing sentinel on the rocky shore, was a beacon of hope and guidance for mariners navigating these treacherous waters. I could hardly believe I was standing in front of such an iconic symbol of maritime heritage.
As we delved deeper into the fishing culture, I learned about the lobster fishery—a vital part of this community's livelihood. Our guide demonstrated the various types of traps used, each designed with a specific purpose in mind.
I was thrilled when they brought out a live lobster, its shell a brilliant shade of blue. I gently touched its rough exterior, feeling a connection to the ocean and the hard work that goes into sustaining this age-old tradition.
With time to explore, I wandered through the quaint shops and galleries that lined the village. Each store seemed to showcase the creativity and craftsmanship of local artisans, and I couldn’t resist picking up a few unique souvenirs.

Achieving Pinnacle Status: My Journey with Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor Society
As I sit down to reflect on my incredible journey with Royal Caribbean, I find myself overwhelmed with a sense of pride and accomplishment. After seven years of dedicated cruising and 29 individual voyages, I have achieved the prestigious Crown and Anchor Pinnacle status,
The highest level a cruiser can attain in Royal Caribbean's loyalty program. This milestone represents not just a number of points accumulated, but a tapestry of experiences, friendships, and unforgettable adventures that have enriched my life in ways I never could have imagined.
When I first boarded my inaugural Royal Caribbean cruise, I was merely a novice traveler, eager to explore the world while enjoying the comforts of a floating resort. Little did I know that this first voyage would ignite a passion for cruising that would shape the next seven years of my life. Each cruise presented me with new opportunities to discover breathtaking destinations, indulge in exquisite dining, and partake in exhilarating onboard activities. With every trip, I found myself yearning for more, eager to venture to new ports of call and immerse myself in different cultures.
The Crown and Anchor Society was my guiding star throughout this journey. With each cruise, I earned points that brought me closer to the coveted Pinnacle status. Initially, I viewed the points as a fun game—an incentive to book my next cruise. However, as time went on, I realized that they represented something much deeper. Each point was a reminder of the memories I had created, the friendships I had formed, and the countless moments of joy I had experienced at sea.
Reaching Pinnacle status required dedication, commitment, and a willingness to embrace the cruising lifestyle. I meticulously planned my vacations, often scheduling multiple cruises in a single year. I explored a variety of itineraries, from Caribbean getaways to European explorations, always on the lookout for new adventures. Along the way, I formed bonds with fellow cruisers who shared my enthusiasm. Together, we swapped stories, tips, and recommendations, creating a community that felt like family.
As the years rolled by, I found myself celebrating milestones on the ships—birthdays, anniversaries, and even personal achievements. I remember one cruise where I celebrated my promotion at work, surrounded by newfound friends who cheered me on as we toasted with cocktails under the stars. Each moment was a reminder of the joy that cruising brought into my life, and I cherished the opportunity to share those experiences with others.
Finally, after seven years, I reached the moment I had been working toward: achieving Pinnacle status with over 700 Crown and Anchor points. The day I received the notification felt surreal. I was elated, but more importantly, I felt a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the experiences I had gained, the destinations I had explored, and the community I had become a part of. It was a testament to my commitment to cruising and a celebration of the joy it had brought into my life.
Now, as a Pinnacle member, I enjoy exclusive benefits and privileges, but the true reward lies not in the perks but in the journey itself. Each cruise remains a new adventure, a chance to create more memories and deepen the connections I have with fellow cruisers and the beautiful destinations we visit. I look forward to the future, knowing that my love for cruising will continue to guide me to new horizons.
In conclusion, achieving Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor Pinnacle status is more than just a title; it is a reflection of my passion for exploration and the countless memories I have created over the years. With every cruise, I am reminded that life is not just about the destinations we reach but the journey we take to get there. I am excited to see where my next adventure will lead me, and I am grateful for every moment along the way.

A Journey Through Prins Christian Sund: Nature’s Masterpiece
Map of Prins Christian Sund
As I cruise past the shores of Prins Christian Sund, I felt as if I had stumbled upon a hidden jewel of the Arctic.
This narrow strait, located in the heart of Greenland, is a breathtaking showcase of nature’s grandeur. The moment I arrived, I was greeted by towering cliffs that rose dramatically from the icy waters, their surfaces adorned with cascading waterfalls and patches of lush greenery.
I had traveled far and wide, but the sheer beauty of this place left me momentarily speechless.
The air was crisp and invigorating, filled with the scent of salt and earth.
As I sailed along the rocky coastline, I was captivated by the intricate interplay of light and shadow on the jagged rocks, which seemed to change with every passing cloud.
The deep blue waters of the strait reflected the sky in a mesmerizing dance of colors that shifted from azure to deep navy, punctuated by the occasional glimmer of sunlight breaking through the clouds. It was a painter’s palette, and I felt fortunate to witness such a masterpiece.
My ride through Prins Christian Sund
My journey through Prins Christian Sund was not just about the stunning landscapes; it was also an exploration of the rich tapestry of life that thrives in this remote region.
As I ventured further into the strait, I was met with the sight of icebergs floating gracefully by, their brilliant whites and blues contrasting starkly against the dark waters.
Each one was unique, sculpted by the elements into fantastical shapes that seemed to tell stories of ages past. I could hardly resist the urge to photograph each one, capturing their beauty for posterity.
The wildlife here was equally captivating. I was lucky enough to spot a group of seals basking on a nearby ice floe, their sleek bodies glistening in the sunlight. They seemed unbothered by my presence, lounging lazily while occasionally poking their heads above the water, their curious eyes watching me with a mix of intrigue and indifference.
I also caught glimpses of seabirds soaring overhead, their calls echoing through the stillness. In moments like these, I felt an overwhelming sense of connection to the natural world, a reminder of the delicate balance that sustains life in such a harsh environment.
As I continued my exploration, I found myself reflecting on the history of this magnificent place.
Prins Christian Sund was named after King Christian VIII of Denmark, and it has served as a vital passageway for explorers and adventurers for centuries. The echoes of their journeys reverberated through my mind as I navigated the strait, each wave seemingly whispering tales of discovery and resilience.
I couldn’t help but feel a sense of camaraderie with those who had come before me, driven by the same insatiable curiosity that propelled me to this remote corner of the world.
In the evenings, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant colors, casting a warm glow over the landscape.
It was during these moments that I truly understood the magic of Prins Christian Sund. The tranquility of the setting sun, combined with the sounds of nature, created an atmosphere of serenity that enveloped me. Golden Circle with Lunch – 22 August 2024
As a passionate world traveler, my recent adventure in Iceland led me to the breathtaking Golden Circle, a route that showcases some of the country’s most treasured natural wonders. The thrill of discovering Gullfoss waterfall, the Geysir hot springs, and Thingvellir National Park filled me with anticipation, and I couldn’t wait to immerse myself in the raw beauty of this extraordinary landscape.
Map of Reykjavik
My day began at Gullfoss, a spectacular double waterfall that plunges a staggering 96 feet into the canyon below. As I stood at the viewing platform, the roar of the cascading water filled the air, and I felt a rush of exhilaration. The sun peeked through the clouds, and to my delight, shimmering rainbows formed in the mist rising from the falls. It was a magical sight, one that felt almost otherworldly. I snapped countless photos, but none could truly capture the sheer power and beauty of Gullfoss. In winter, I could only imagine how the falls would glitter with ice, adding a different kind of enchantment to this natural wonder.
Next, we made our way to the Geysir hot springs, where the ground seemed to come alive with hissing and bubbling activity. I was fascinated by the geothermal landscape, with steam rising from the earth and vibrant mineral deposits coloring the ground. The highlight was witnessing the famous Strokkur geyser, which erupts with boiling water shooting more than 200 feet into the air every few minutes. The anticipation built as we gathered around, and when it finally erupted, I couldn’t help but cheer with excitement. The raw power of nature on display was both humbling and awe-inspiring.
After our adventure at Geysir, we stopped for a well-deserved lunch at a nearby restaurant. As I savored traditional Icelandic dishes, I reflected on the wonders I had seen so far. The flavors were as rich as the landscapes, and I felt grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique culture.
Our final stop was Thingvellir National Park, a site of immense historical and geological significance. As I walked through the park, I marveled at the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which separates the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. It was incredible to stand in a place where two continents meet, a tangible reminder of the Earth’s dynamic nature. Thingvellir is also where Iceland’s parliament was first established in 930, and I felt a deep connection to the history that unfolded in this remarkable location.
As the day came to a close, I left the Golden Circle with my heart full of wonder and my mind buzzing with memories. Each natural wonder told a story, and I felt privileged to have experienced them firsthand. From the majestic Gullfoss to the thrilling eruptions at Geysir and the historical significance them to explore this incredible destination for themselves.
