Joseph Francis Thompson is from Detroit, Michigan.  He is currently a full-time student at George Mason University studying Fine Arts and Photography and works at his own studio.  He takes photographs to better understand the reality of his subjects, to identify with their hidden qualities, to capture images of the world around him.  He has learned much from studying the great photographers of the past such as Larry Sultan, Lee Friedlander, Stephen Shore, Cindy Sherman, and Alberto Korda.  He specializes in photographing military servicemen, veterans, and their spouses.  He uses photography to document their stories.  He believes the more we know each other, the stronger our diverse community will become.  Follow him on Instagram Joseph Thompson (@thompsjf) ,Twitter (@ThompsonJTweets) / Twitter, and Linkedin joseph-f-thompson-23969710/
